In 2012, I participated in the Ankara and Istanbul-based endoscopic lung surgery course (VATS) with my own efforts and initiatives. In the same year, I performed the first thoracoscopic lung lobectomy surgery in Ankara. Then, I performed endoscopic lung cancer surgery for the first time in Ankara. I still successfully perform all kinds of lung resection surgeries including pneumonectomy with endoscopic methods (VATS).
I made various presentations called “VATS (video-assisted endoscopic surgery) firsts” in association-organized symposiums held in the hospital. In 2015, I held the first VATS course in our hospital, including surgical practice training on a national platform. I have also been the subject of news in the national media several times. I have been the thesis advisor of approximately 10 assistants until today.
According to YÖKSİS data, I have contributed to 88 articles and 160 papers in national and international journals. I have also authored book chapters and special issue chapters. I attended the “robotic surgery” course in Spain and received a certificate in this field.
I am currently working at the Ankara campus of the Department of Thoracic Surgery, University of Health Sciences.
